Dr. Abdelaty Elmannaee , the health tourism expert, Egyptian physician specializing in environmental healing, and a researcher in the Arab, African, and Asian regions, has completed the Moroccan Environmental Healing tourism This achievement follows his completion of the environmental healing maps for Sudan, Jordan, South Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, the UAE, and Iran, complementing the Egyptian Environmental Health Map. Dr. Al-Manaei expressed his pride in this accomplishment, describing it as a significant step toward realizing his long-held dream of creating the “Afro-Asian Atlas of Environmental tourism”, a project he had been planning for several years.
The atlas details, for each map, the locations and various patterns of environmental healing, including sulfuric springs, saline waters, black sands, therapeutic mud, and the most important medicinal herbs. Dr. Al-Manaei emphasized that Morocco possesses a unique heritage of environmental tourism sites recognized worldwide. Over forty sites have been cataloged in this first phase, encompassing diverse healing patterns such as sulfuric springs, black sands, saline waters, and the globally renowned Moroccan therapeutic mud, which has been famous for thousands of years.
The Moroccan map includes scientific, environmental, geographic, and historical information about key healing sites, such as Ain Al-Ati, named by His Majesty King Hassan II after its sudden emergence in 1984 and often described as a “miraculous spring.” Other notable sites include Ain Oum El Rbiâ, where forty springs combine freshwater and saline water, forming a unique environmental phenomenon, as well as Moulay Yacoub Springs, Sidi Harazem, Ain Allah, Ain Al-Rahma, and the Merzouga region, famous for sand-based healing therapies. These sites are described in detail with supporting photos and videos, highlighting their therapeutic benefits for conditions such as psoriasis, rheumatism, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Additionally, the Moroccan Environmental Healing Map includes a dictionary of medicinal herbs, detailing their scientifically validated contributions to immune system support and treatment, alongside the diseases that can benefit from environmental healing through its various methods. Dr. Al-Manaei considers environmental healing a key component of health tourism, which encompasses four main categories: medical tourism, environmental healing, accessible health tourism, and educational tourism. He emphasizes that these categories are central to the health tourism industry, noting that many countries host hundreds of sites offering diverse environmental healing methods, and he discusses their economic potential in his books and articles, predicting a promising future for this industry.
Dr. Abdelaty Elmannaee is widely regarded as the pioneer of health tourism and one of its most distinguished experts. With over twenty years of experience in research, field studies, and practical applications, he has leveraged his expertise to enhance and develop this emerging tourism sector, which, with further investment and attention, could significantly boost foreign currency revenue and strengthen the economies of countries across the Arab, African, and Asian regions.
