As part of Moulay Ismail University’s openness to its national and international environment, and within an academic initiative led by the coordinator of the Master’s in Tourism Communication and Heritage Valorization at the Multidisciplinary Faculty in Errachidia, Dr. Reda Chelfi, the Arab expert in health tourism, Dr. Abdelaty Al-Manaei, is preparing to deliver a series of virtual lectures for master’s students in the coming weeks.
Dr. Al-Manaei stated that this initiative aims to enrich university education and connect students with national and international expertise in tourism and heritage. He explained that the lectures will cover multiple topics, including medical tourism, environmental healing, and accessible health tourism—a concept that Dr. Al-Manaei is credited with defining scientifically and integrating into the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Al-Manaei will also present a special session on the “Moroccan Environmental Healing Map” he designed, highlighting the key regions suitable for natural therapy in the Kingdom. Additionally, he will share practical case studies from his pioneering experiences in developing health tourism programs at both the Arab and international levels.
He emphasized that this step aligns with Dr. Reda Chelfi’s open academic vision, which seeks to modernize university curricula and broaden students’ horizons toward scientific and field experiences that keep pace with the evolving tourism and heritage sectors in Morocco and globally.
It is worth noting that Dr. Abdelaty Al-Manaei is considered a pioneer of health tourism in the region and one of the leading Arab experts in the field. He has contributed to initiatives that combine humanitarian and economic dimensions and has helped shape visions and strategies to advance medical and environmental tourism in the Arab and African worlds.
These lectures are expected to receive wide engagement from students of the Master’s in Tourism Communication and Heritage Valorization, as they provide a scientific and forward-looking perspective on the future of the health and tourism sectors in Morocco, enhancing the country’s position as a leading destination for sustainable tourism and applied scientific research.
